Orlando City have made it! They are in the Eastern Conference Final for the first time in their history, beating Atlanta United side 1-0.
I have been going to Orlando City games for a few years now, and I have never experienced this kind of atmosphere before. It was a sell-out. Walking towards the stadium amidst a sea of purple, spirits were so high. Everyone was happy. Excited. There was anticipation in the air. Our fans were expecting a victory, they knew it was going to happen. And it did.
The Purple Wall was in full force. The chanting never stopped. From minute one, Orlando definitely took advantage of their twelfth man. There was no way the fans were going to let Atlanta have the slightest amount of comfort.
It’s a good week to be a Lion. Pride have just won their first ever NSWL championship. City are on their way to the final. The City Beautiful deserves to be smug.
New York Red Bulls to follow. If the Inter&Co Stadium is even half as loud as it was against Atlanta, we will surely see another strong Orlando win.
